OCTOBER 22nd RACE REPORT: Canyon Speedway Park, ASCS Canyon Region 360 Sprint Cars, 35 total wingless sprint cars entered.

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, the car was again decorated with 4 pink body panels, showing our support for fighters & survivors of this disease.  Three names on the car were added in honor of ladies who have fought & beat breast cancer.  Brandon Lane's #9 & our team advertised a link to help raise money for Jody Lane (Brandon's wife) at http://www.the3day.org/goto/jodylane.  She is raising funds to participate in the 3-Day walk on Nov. 11-13 to show support for her friends & family who have battled Breast Cancer.

We brought out the Bullet Chassis car again and we drew a #44 pill.  This earned us a fourth row starting spot for the heat race.  Bob started 8th, fell to 9th and finished 7th in the heat.  That poor finish did not earn us enough passing points for a starting spot in the A-main event.  So, we were scheduled to start 6th in the first of (2) B-Mains.  ASCS only allowed 3 cars to transfer from each B.  Bob moved past just enough tough competitors to earn a 3rd place finish, awarding us a 19th starting spot in the A-Main.  Near the mid-point of the race, Bob was up to 12th until he hit the cushion directly & packed the right rear wheel full of mud, causing a huge vibration in the rear axle.  Bob pulled off the track with a DNF, scoring 16th.  Congratulations to RJ Johnson, & his team on the Southwest Championships victory.  Click here for full results and photos: http://www.abcmotorsports.com/11swchampresultsnight2.htm

NEXT UP: FRIDAY OCTOBER 28 & SATURDAY OCTOBER 29, USAC/CRA National 410 Sprint Cars visit Canyon Speedway Park.  We will compete in the PARKER STORE HALL OF FAME CLASSIC with our 360 engine, looking for a spot in the A-Main event each night.  We'll also fight for the extra bonus money offered for the top 3 finishing 360 entries awarded by Beaver Stripes (Graphics) and Mike White.  Huge thank you Mike!

OCTOBER 15th RACE REPORT: ET Motopark (Arizona Speedway), Wild West Open Comp Sprint Cars, 22 total wingless sprint cars entered.

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness month, the car was adorned with 4 pink body panels, showing our support for fighters & survivors of this disease.  Three names on the car were added in honor of ladies who have fought & beat breast cancer.  We also advertised a link to help raise money for Jody Lane (Brandon's wife) at http://www.the3day.org/goto/jodylane.  She is raising funds to participate in the 3-Day walk on Nov. 11-13 to show support for her friends & family who have battled Breast Cancer.

We brought out the Bullet Chassis car again and we drew a #8 pill.  This earned us a front row starting spot for the heat race.  Bob had a hard time finding traction and the setup was far from good enough to win.  He started 1st & finished 5th in the heat.  That poor finish set us back to a 15th place starting spot for the A-main event.  By the first caution period, we were up to 9th behind Brian Hosford.  The dirt track began to "take rubber" and speeds increased.  Feeling much more comfortable after making necessary changes to the car, Bob moved past a few more cars earning a 5th place finish.  A night that got off to a rough start ended up pretty decent.  Huge congratulations to Stevie Sussex, Mickey Meyer Jr. and Dr. John Deuel on the trio's 2nd ET win of the year together, taking home the most cash!  Here is a link to the photo gallery from the event: http://dicp.smugmug.com/EtMotparkcircletrack/AZ-Speedway-10-15-2011/19570493_gkHJ23#1532892832_8GDGZWH

NEXT UP: FRIDAY OCTOBER 21, ASCS Southwest Region 360 Winged Sprints, We'll crew for Derrik Ortega from Albuquerque.  Let's see if he can repeat what he did last year at this event & take home a win in the blue 35 car!  www.derrikortega.com
